Con 15 años de carrera en el medio radiofónico, Erika del Carmen es programadora de Los 40 Principales y una de las conductoras consentidas de La Ke Buena 102.5 en Los Mochis, en donde tiene dos programas: Estrellas y Estrellones, un programa de revista con un tono fresco y liviano, y De todo Corazón, el cual conduce desde hace 13 años y es sin duda uno de los más escuchados en la estación, porque aborda el tema del amor de una manera peculiar.
¿Cómo empezó tu carrera?
Cuando estaba haciendo mis prácticas profesionales me escucharon diciendo la hora, eso les gustó y me propusieron hacer un programa. En ese entonces había un programa que se llamaba “Contigo Juan Gabriel” que programaba puras canciones de él y a partir de que escuché “Yo no nací para amar” empecé a pensar que muchas personas se sienten identificadas con la idea de que no nacieron para amar: A partir de ahí que nace el proyecto De todo Corazón, que surgió como un espacio en el que yo pudiera escuchar las inquietudes de la gente alrededor del amor, escuchar sus historias y compartirlas.
¿Entonces podrías decir que Juanga te inspiró a hacer tu programa?
De alguna u otra manera sí, sus canciones marcaron mi carrera. El programa surgió a partir de Juan Gabriel.
De todo Corazón es un programa peculiar porque a pesar de sonar en la Ke Buena, incluye canciones pop. ¿Te costó trabajo incluir canciones románticas en una estación de regional mexicano?
Un poco, de cierto modo siento que yo marqué algo en la radio porque aunque al principio todos se espantaban, yo siempre creí que al igual que yo, hay mucha gente a la que le gusta todo tipo de música y más si habla de amor. Varios jefes me decían que lo quitara o que no me iba a funcionar, pero yo me aferré y afortunadamente ya llevo muchos años con el programa y la música gusta, entonces me siento bendecida.
Tu trabajo como programadora te respalda, pero ¿cómo escoges las canciones para el programa?
Confío mucho en mi feeling y me fijo mucho en las letras de las canciones y de qué manera pueden funcionar para contar historias, que al final es lo que hacemos en el programa.
¿Qué le recomendarías a alguien que como tú tiene las ganas de lograr sus sueños y está empezando?
Que no desistan y luchen por lograrlos. Yo luché un par de años defendiendo mi idea, pocos creían en mí y hoy afortunadamente el programa es un éxito y mi idea funciona.

Como conductores les diría que a la gente hay que darle lo que pida, que no dejen de proponer lo que creen que puede funcionar, que busquen la forma de enamorar a la gente para que se enganche con ustedes y que no teman en apapachar, escuchar y consentir a la audiencia, eso es muy importante.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said «You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.» She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
