Resulta que Maganda denunció al diario Milenio que fue dado de baja de la plantilla arbitral en la Liga MX por su color de piel y según él, hasta recibió burlas por parte del Presidente de la Comisión de Árbitros, Arturo Brizio.

Pasaron algunos minutos y los tres directivos no le dieron una razón clara, por lo que preguntó si el motivo se debía a su color de piel y presencia en el campo.
“Jorge Eduardo Gasso me dijo ‘negro’ ahí, en esa reunión: ‘¡Pues, por negro! ¿No te ves tu color?”, mencionó Maganda en entrevista.
Luego de esto, Brizio respondió en tono sarcástico a la frase de Gasso: “no, cómo crees”.
Gasso agregó: ”¿Y tú, que haces aquí pinche negro?
Maganda reportó el incidente a la Comisión de Árbitros y la Liga MX, pero todo quedó en un regaño y los directivos de la Liga dijeron que no hubo tal situación en aquel juego. El debut de Maganda en la Liga MX fue en un Puebla vs. Monterrey en enero del 2017, cuando fue solicitado para pitar ese encuentro.
Arturo Brizio desmintió la acusación hecha por Maganda y negó que el color de piel del árbitro haya sido la causa para darlo de baja, sino fue porque no pasó los exámenes físicos que se les aplican a todos los colegiados durante el torneo.
